Position Summary
The Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting, advising, and guiding prospective students through the graduate and online undergraduate admissions process. This role manages a defined caseload, conducts outreach using CRM systems, evaluates applications, and collaborates with faculty and staff to achieve enrollment goals. The Admissions Counselor represents the university at events, supports student onboarding, and ensures a high-quality, service-oriented experience aligned with the universitys Christian mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a prospective student pipeline through calls, emails, text messaging, and meetings.
- Guide students through the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment.
- Assist students with application completion, program selection, and degree planning.
- Support onboarding, including registration and transition into first courses.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions within CRM systems.
- Execute communication strategies aligned with enrollment goals.
- Represent the university at recruitment events, both on- and off-campus.
- Build relationships with community colleges, churches, and partner organizations.
- Plan and facilitate information sessions, webinars, and orientations.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support recruitment and retention initiatives.
- Participate in training and professional development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required.
- 1-3 years of experience in admissions, sales, or recruitment preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and standard office software.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Performance Expectations
- Meet or exceed enrollment and conversion targets.
- Maintain timely follow-up with prospective students.
- Achieve activity benchmarks (calls, appointments, applications).
- Provide high-quality customer service to all stakeholders.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Extended time working on a computer and phone.
- Ability to travel independently for recruitment events.
- Work environment ranges from moderate to fast-paced.
- Frequent interaction with students, staff, and community members.
