Posting Text The Office of Admissions at Black Hills State University is seeking a motivated individual for the position of Admissions Counselor Rapid City. In this position youll be a key contributor to the recruitment of students at BHSU making a very real impact on the universitys enrollment goals and future successes. This position will be based primarily on the BHSU-Rapid City campus with regular expected presence on the BHSU main campus - in Spearfish - for scheduled training meetings or other on-campus Admissions events.

As an Admissions Counselor youll manage a designated recruitment territory based on geography student market type or a combination of the two. Youll guide students through every step of their college journey-from initial inquiry to enrollment. Youll be a university brand ambassador representing BHSU both on and off campus. Your role will involve providing accurate information about academic programs financial aid student life and other university services. Youll offer valuable guidance to prospective students and their families - to help them make well-informed college decisions.

An Admissions Counselor position is a combination of recruitment marketing database management counseling and student services and other general office administrative and data processing duties. You will frequently work with high school-aged students their families school districts and school counselors other university departments university athleticscoaches and others.

If you thrive in a dynamic environment possess strong organizational abilities and can adapt to changing schedules involving occasional evenings weekends and overnight travel then you may be a good fit for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree earned. Valid drivers license required.

PREFERRED SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE

Willpower to travel in-state and out-of-state for required duties of position. Extended travel multiple nights per week for multiple weeks in a row may be required at certain times of the year. Knowledge of Black Hills State University the greater Black Hills region and state of South Dakota. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills both oral and written work well with a team and have the ability to be creative in developing recruiting opportunities.
