UNION POSITIONS: The internal salary range is used for applicants who are current NJ state employees with underlying classified status for promotional calculations who meet the requirements below. Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Admissions Counselor will be to recruit first-year students in-state and out-of-state and serve as transfer support. The counselor will engage and participate in off and on-campus recruitment events and activities, such as college fairs, high school visits, panels, and presentations in both an in-person/virtual modality (whichever is required). Additionally, the counselor will review applications holistically and efficiently. This role includes supporting the recruitment efforts of the Office of Admissions, providing exceptional customer service for students, their families, and other external and internal stakeholders. The counselor will maintain regular communication via phone, email, and in-person meetings with all stakeholders, with an emphasis on in-state and out-of-state recruitment. Finally, the Admissions Counselor assists projects that target specific recruitment cohorts (i.e. academic schools, outside vendors,
etc.).
