Admissions File Reviewer - Physical Therapy

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

We are creating two separate positions to assist with graduate admissions file review within the Physical Therapy Program. We are short three core faculty to assist with this process, and the general burden on our existing faculty is already very high. We would like to appoint these two contracted positions to review up to 40 admissions files each for the 2026-2027 application cycle. The majority of the work would be completed between September and December 2026.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive training from experienced faculty/member of the Admissions Committee on the use of standardized scoring rubric.
• Conduct review of up to 40 admissions files using the PTCAS platform, which includes reviewing qualifications, verifying experience and reading admissions essays.
• Communication with admissions team if any 'red flags' arise regarding any applicant's submission.
• Provide monthly updates to Chair of Admissions Committee to pose questions and report progress on assigned duties.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

Participate in virtual or in-person interviews in early November 2026 if desired as part of continuity in overall Admissions process. This would be conducted on a voluntary basis, and would be strictly optional for each external file reviewer we hire.

JOB SCOPE:

The two reviewers would be responsible for following our standardized process as much as possible and using our validated rubric to score each PTCAS application. The reviewers would be expected to communicate with the Chair of the Admissions Committee if any questions arise or concerns are noted during the file review process.
