The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is recruiting for an Admissions Officer to join our team within Enrollment Services. If you are interested in the field of higher education student support services such as admissions or enrollment, we encourage you to apply!
This position plays a key role in supporting the admissions process by reviewing and evaluating undergraduate, graduate, and international applications, processing academic records and supporting documents, and making admission decisions in accordance with university policies and regulations. The role requires strong attention to detail, professional judgment, and excellent communication skills to assist students, faculty, and staff throughout the admissions cycle. Additionally, the position contributes to data management, system testing, process improvements, and special projects that support enrollment management operations.
To thrive in this role, a successful candidate will bring experience working in a university admissions, student records, or similar administrative environment, along with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage a high-volume workload with accuracy and efficiency. Success in this position requires the ability to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures, exercise sound judgment when evaluating exceptions, and perform detailed record reviews and calculations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for supporting students and collaborating effectively with faculty and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year college coursework or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
