Full-time/Part-time Full-Time Position Type Staff Job Summary/Basic Function

The Admissions Recruiter serves as a frontline representative of the College and is responsible for promoting enrollment through student recruitment, outreach, and relationship-building activities throughout the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and surrounding service areas. This position supports prospective students through the admissions process while communicating the value of community college education, workforce training, transfer opportunities, and student support services. The Admissions Recruiter regularly travels to high schools, college fairs, community events, and partner organizations to increase awareness and enrollment opportunities for traditional and non-traditional students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree and two years of experience in admissions, recruitment, student services, sales, marketing, public relations, education, or customer service.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences including students, families, schools, and community organizations.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Proficiency in technology applications (i.e. Microsoft 365) and customer relationship management (CRM) or database systems.
  • Ability and willingness to travel primarily throughout the Upper Peninsula and other areas as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet institutional driving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, communications, marketing, or a related field;
  • Two or more years of experience working in higher education admissions or community college recruitment.
  • Experience with recruiting or student support in healthcare degree fields
  • Familiarity with rural communities and the unique challenges facing first-generation and non-traditional students.
  • Experience using student information systems and CRM platforms.
  • Knowledge of financial aid, admissions procedures, dual enrollment, and transfer pathways.
  • Experience with public speaking, event coordination, or social media outreach.

Job Duty

  • Recruit prospective students through outreach activities including high school visits, college fairs, community events, campus tours, information sessions, and virtual presentations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors, teachers, community organizations, workforce agencies, and tribal or regional partners.
  • Assist students and their families through each stage of the enrollment process from inquiry to registration including admissions requirements, academic programs, career pathways, financial aid processes, and student support services.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and communication activities within the College's CRM and student information system.
  • Coordinate and participate in recruitment campaigns and events designed to increase enrollment and improve student conversion rates.
  • Represent the College in a professional manner that supports the institution's mission, values, and commitment to student success.
  • Support enrollment initiatives focused on rural, adult, underserved, and first-generation student populations.
  • Collaborate with academic departments, student services staff, and marketing personnel to promote college programs and events.
  • Analyze recruitment trends and provide recommendations for improving outreach and enrollment strategies.
  • Assist with the competitive admission and re-entry process for the College's Selective Admission Programs . for the Allied Health Division.

Job Duty

  • Assist with orientation, registration, retention, and student success initiatives as needed.
  • Participate in institutional committees and professional development opportunities
  • Support special enrollment events including open houses, scholarship events, and campus visit days.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and recruitment materials in collaboration with supervisor and the marketing department.
  • Maintain knowledge of current higher education trends, enrollment practices, and state and federal regulations related to admissions.
  • Collaborate with student affairs departments and other divisions on campus to meet institutional goals.
