Job DescriptionAdmissions Recruiter (Student Counselor Associate) – University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Nursing seeks an Admissions Recruiter to support and execute strategic recruitment initiatives, manage in-state and out-of-state recruitment, conduct information sessions, represent Admissions at recruiting and outreach events, and counsel prospective students.This position reports to the Office of Admissions within the Office of Student and Academic Services and is the direct supervisor. The incumbent supports and executes strategic recruitment initiatives by managing in-state and out-of-state recruitment, conducting information sessions, representing Admissions at recruiting and outreach events, and counseling prospective students.Benefits include a comprehensive package that prioritizes wellness, work/life balance, professional development, retirement program participation, paid leave, health insurance, tuition remission, flexible work schedules, and teleworking options where applicable.Agency role is primarily physical within the State of Maryland.Primary DutiesApprove transfer credit evaluations as appropriate.Provide guidance to prospective and current students regarding educational planning, career goals, and available university resources.Execute recruitment and outreach strategies to support enrollment goals across undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.Develop and maintain relationships with academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and community partners to strengthen recruitment pipelines.Represent the School of Nursing at on‑campus and off‑campus recruitment events, including occasional evening and weekend programs.Manage prospective student engagement throughout the admissions funnel, including inquiry generation, applicant follow‑up, and enrollment conversion.Communicate with prospective students via telephone, email, virtual platforms, social media, and in‑person interactions to support the admissions and enrollment process.Utilize CRM systems (e.g., Ellucian Recruit or similar platforms) to track prospective student engagement, manage communications, and monitor recruitment activity.Analyze recruitment data and trends to inform outreach strategies and improve conversion rates across the admissions funnel.Note: The intent of this list of primary duties is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this job. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's Degree.Experience: One year of progressively responsible clerical work required; one year of experience in recruitment, admissions, enrollment management, marketing, or a related field preferred; experience in higher education recruitment strongly preferred.Other: Additional related experience and formal education may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year‑for‑year basis with 30 college credits equal to one year of experience.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Thorough knowledge of team office practices, procedures and equipment; general knowledge of principles of team leadership and office management; effective communication of program value to prospective students; planning and coordinating team clerical work; interpreting and applying departmental policies; operating manual and automated office equipment; composing correspondence; creating and maintaining files; effective telephone usage; organization, coordination, and execution of multiple assignments under time constraints; work effectively in a self‑directed team based environment; ability to evaluate and train team clerical personnel; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred; ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment preferred; experience using CRM systems to manage prospective student engagement preferred.SalarySalary Range: $46,000 – $55,500; commensurate with education and experience.Equal Opportunity StatementUMB is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce and is proud to be an equal employment opportunity employer.
