    Duties and Responsibilities

    • *Collaborates and/or supports Admissions efforts with JABSOM Office of Admissions personnel.

    • *Oversees the resolution of admissions inquiries and provides general premedical guidance to prospective students, applicants, community organizations, and the general public to support JABSOMs recruitment and enrollment efforts.

    • Advises regarding the development and implementation of MD Program application processes.

    • *Navigates the American Medical College Application Service application along with the application management system to assist with Office of Admissions projects and tasks.

    • *Oversees JABSOM application screening procedures and serves as the initial evaluator of applications.

    • *Serves as the primary point of contact for Admissions information; fulfills and resolves data and information requests from JABSOM related groups, community organizations, and the general public on Admissions initiatives.

    • *Responsible for the compilation, analysis and preparation of statistical data related to admissions efforts for the purposes of report generation and/or research and innovation.

    • *Conducts literature reviews and develops admissions scholarly projects and reports at the direction of the Director of Admissions.

    • *Responsible for JABSOM Office of Admissions accreditation interim and final reports at the direction of the Director of Admissions.

    • Coordinates and supports the JABSOM Student Outreach Committee meetings. Assists with meeting agenda, minutes, and post-meeting follow-up.

    • Responsible for coordinating aspects of MD Program outreach including securing venues and speakers, creating and managing event budgets and participating in presentations and activities (both on and off campus) - including college and career fairs, and school presentations.

    • Processes and resolves fiscal paperwork related to Office of Admissions travel and purchasing.

    • Collaborates in the planning, designing, and revising of web-based information for faculty and prospective students.

    • Supports the annual JABSOM White Coat Ceremony and JABSOM Convocation Ceremony.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Possession of a baccalaureate degree in education, business administration, communication or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for admissions and/or related administrative work in a higher education; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.

    • Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of admissions, student outreach, and/or instructional/student support and/or development as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.

    • Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with college and/or medical school admissions, student outreach and/or instructional/student support.

    • Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.

    • Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.

    • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.

    • Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, and Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

    • If applicable, for supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage fiscal operations and simple budgets.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage data sets using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

    Desirable Qualifications

    • Understanding of the philosophical basis of student affairs.

    • Demonstrated appreciation of the nuances related to educational program delivery particular to our communities.

    • Ability to conduct computer based surveys.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of basic statistics and study design.

    • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the use of current social media platforms.
