Adoption Coordinator

LSSI is hiring a full-time Adoption Coordinator, Monday through Friday. The responsible individual will supervise a unit of therapeutic mentors at one or more sites and provide program support within COA standards, LSSI policies, and program plans.

Essential Functions

• Supervise a unit of therapeutic mentors providing services to children and families after adoption, including but not limited to:

• Meeting regularly with therapeutic mentors to provide guidance, direction, support, and approval of decision-making and interventions.
• Assisting with administrative tasks, including but not limited to:
• Reporting
• Tracking
• File reviews
• Client satisfaction surveys • Complete and submit all required reports and documentation accurately and timely as required by agency and contractual entities. • Assist in organizing and facilitating events, including but not limited to:
• Food bank support groups
• Parent and staff trainings
• Client outings • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individuals in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a human services-related field from an accredited school required. • Masters degree in social work or counseling preferred. • Background check clearance, both criminal and CANTS. • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in a social work, mental health, or similar setting required. • Minimum of five years of experience working with children required. • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing. • Excellent organization, presentation, and computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other related software. • Valid drivers license in good standing for the state of residency required. • Access to reliable transportation required. • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.
