    Cedar Lake Enrichment Center (CLEC) Nurse

    What you'll do:
    The CLEC nurse functions as a member of the Individuals Services staff and is a member of the Interdisciplinary Team. He/She has the overall responsibility for the delivery of outpatient services to individuals in the CLEC program.   
     
    Essential Functions:
    • To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the individual’s treatment plan.
    • To provide holistic health care this includes emotional, spiritual, physical and safety aspects.
    • To perform nursing procedures according to doctor's orders with accepted professional practices.
    • To assist with Direct Support staff by working with various departments, therapists and assist with individual care when needed. 
    • To perform medication administration to all CLEC participants. 
    • To administer basic first aid and/or CPR in an emergency situation.
    • To document all drugs and treatments given on the appropriate chart per facility procedures.
    • To investigate promptly any symptom brought to the nurse's attention by Direct Support staff or family.
    • To call the physician as sign and symptoms occur.  Requires medical follow-up or hospital visits
    • The development, implementation, monitoring and recording of progress of individual CLEC activities program plans with the goals of maximizing each individual’s physical, emotional, social skills and abilities.
    • Maintaining records and documenting within each individuals record the extent and level of each individual’s participation in the activities program.  Submit a written assessment annually including each individual’s goals, progress and participation. 
    • Consultation with Direct Support Staff and individuals as appropriate for the development of appropriate on-suite and leisure time activities and to instruct in the efficient, effective and proper use of all required equipment, supplies and facilities.
    • Attendance at and participation in all Interdisciplinary Team Staffing’s for the purpose of establishing goals, coordinating programs and developing long range plans with each resident.
    • Assistance with the coordination, planning and scheduling with various field trips, outings, special events, etc.; assist with direct supervision of events as appropriate.
    • Monitor the annual budget for CLEC accounts and keep within budget guidelines.
    • Attend and participate in new employee orientation In-Service meetings as scheduled.  Provide In-Service training to staff as appropriate.
    • Maintain compliance with all regulations, including, but not limited to ICF/MR regulations and CLEC guidelines and or regulations.
    • Perform other related work as assigned.
    What sets you apart:
    • Must be a graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.
    • Must have a current Kentucky license to practice nursing.
    • Must have continuing education units up to date.
    • Current CPR and first aid training certification.  
    • Must be Supports for Community Living Waiver (SCL) certified. (Training will be provided by Cedar Lake). 
    • One year in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
    • Two years nursing experience in a long-term facility preferred.
    • Experience in the team approach to health care and IDT mechanics.
    What your typical schedule looks like:
    Full-time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday.  Requires flexibility in order to meet the individual/client’s needs.  
     
    Employment Status:
    Non-Exempt, hourly, full time. Monday-Friday 
    The CLEC Nurse is administratively responsible to the Director of Health Services CLL/PP.
