FILING DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 3, 2026, 4:30 PM

District Classified application and supplemental form must be submitted to the Personnel Commission Office by the filing deadline.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

This is an OPEN recruitment to establish an eligibility list, fill vacancies and hire substitutes. Substitutes work on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent employees. The eligibility list will be used to fill permanent vacancies which may occur during the life of the eligibility list.

These positions are part-time, 19 hours per week, 10 months per year, 181 days. Schedules will vary and include evening hours.

The recruitment process will consist of a written examination and an oral technical interview, which are tentatively scheduled during the weeks of September 8-18, 2026. Qualified applicants will be notified by US mail or email.

Basic Function

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of instructional assistance and clerical duties in support of the adult school program; perform a variety of duties in a specialized instructional area such as is outlined in the adult education catalog of instruction or other specialty field.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

Adult Education Instructional Assistant encompasses classroom assistance in various subject matter areas of instruction. The classroom assistance is generalized with the only exception occurring as to the various subject curriculums involved.

Education & Experience

Any combination equivalent to: sufficient education to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above and one year of training or experience in the applicable subject area.
