    Job Description Summary

    MUSC Health is seeking a highly motivated Inpatient Pharmacist to join our academic medical center in a part-time role. This position supports medication-use safety and clinical excellence across a diverse and complex inpatient population while working within a multidisciplinary, teaching-focused environment. As part of MUSC Health-South Carolina's only comprehensive academic health system-the inpatient pharmacist plays a key role in direct patient care, interprofessional collaboration, and support of the education mission for pharmacy learners.

    Job Description

    Work Shift:

    • Minimum requirement of one weekend per month
    • Opportunities for weekday morning & evening coverage available in addition to weekends

    Job Description:

    • Review, verify, and clinically assess medication orders for appropriateness, safety, and efficacy
    • Provide comprehensive inpatient clinical pharmacy services, including dosing optimization, renal/hepatic adjustments, antimicrobial stewardship support, and drug interaction management
    • Serve as a medication therapy resource for physicians, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
    • Participate in medication reconciliation and transitions of care processes
    • Support evening pharmacy operations, including oversight of pharmacy technicians
    • Document and communicate clinical interventions in the electronic medical record
    • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards
    • Support MUSC's academic mission by engaging with pharmacy residents and students as appropriate

    Additional Job Description

    Minimum Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor"s degree in pharmacy. Prior inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.

    Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
