• $25.00 per hour
• 20 hours per week
• Tuesday & Thursday: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

ROLE IMPACT
The Literacy Instructor delivers engaging, hands-on instruction that helps library customers build essential skills in areas such as English language learning, digital literacy, citizenship preparation, and workforce readiness. This role supports community education initiatives by developing effective learning materials, facilitating classes, and fostering positive learning experiences that drive measurable outcomes for participants.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver instruction and educational support to internal and external customers across assigned literacy programs.
• Develop curriculum, lesson plans, training materials, manuals, and other instructional resources to support learning objectives.
• Coordinate class scheduling, maintain training records, track participation data, and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with library leadership and community organizations to align instructional offerings with customer and organizational needs.
• Provide direct customer service in educational settings and assist with maintaining instructional materials and resources.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Computer Science/Technology, Adult Learning, or related field; equivalent directly related experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of instructional methods, curriculum development, and adult learning best practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, customer service, and recordkeeping skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software.

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience teaching adult learners in literacy, workforce development, ESL, citizenship, or digital skills programs.
• Ability to build partnerships with community organizations and educational stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with strong initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
