Core Responsibilities:
This position is professional social services work of a supervisory nature in directing, overseeing, and reviewing the work and activities of a unit of caseworkers and support staff in the area of adult protective services.
As an Adult Protective Casework Supervisor, you will:
• Plan, organize, direct and monitor case work activities of APS Caseworkers.
• Confer with and advise your team on casework and program matters.
• Review and compare work performance/productivity of subordinate staff on a regular basis within established standards. Provide feedback to subordinate staff to improve performance/productivity, efficiency and provide opportunities for growth.
• Confer with other agencies and community resources.
• Review reported allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation; conduct preliminary investigation activities, and assign reports to Caseworkers.
• Monitor investigation activity and guardianship representative duties for quality assurance and to meet established investigation timelines and/or comply with rules and statutes.
• Monitor and manage Caseworker caseloads to support caseworkers, and for quality assurance purposes.
• Analyze and review cases to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, standards, and requirements. Initiate and participate in court hearings.
• Develop and deliver presentations and workshops. Participate on community task groups, committees, and boards to promote agency goals, objectives, and services.
Minimum Qualifications:
In order to qualify, you must have eight (8) years of education and/or professional experience in social work which includes at least two years' experience as a fully licensed social worker* (LSW).
*An LMSW or LCSW automatically meets the two (2) years fully licensed social worker experience requirement.
The background of well-qualified candidates will include at least 1 year of experience supervising the activities of those working with incapacitated and dependent adults. Please describe that experience in your cover letter.
