ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS):
- Plans and implements developmentally appropriate toddler experiences, including art, sensory exploration, fine and gross motor activities, and early STEM learning.
- Facilitates daily parent discussions focused on child development, behavior guidance, family communication, and relationship-based parenting practices.
- Creates a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse families and learning styles.
- Provides individualized and small group support to parents and children, adapting activities to meet varying developmental needs.
- Develops and distributes parent education handouts and instructional materials aligned with class topics.
- Communicates clearly and consistently with families regarding class activities, school-wide events, and program expectations.
- Maintains organized records related to attendance, instructional planning, and classroom materials.
- Manages classroom supplies, including tracking expenses, submitting receipts, and maintaining organized records.
- Participates in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and parenting workshops offered on campus.
- Supports program enrollment efforts by promoting classes and engaging with prospective families as needed.
- Prepares and shares quarterly calendars of class activities and events with families.
- Represents the program at select whole school or campus events, including occasional evening events.
- Reflects on instructional practice and family feedback to improve program quality and effectiveness.
- Follows established district policies and procedures, including those related to safety, mandated reporting, and professional conduct.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
During periods of critical shortage or other emergency situations, shall temporarily perform any duties as directed within the authorization of any credentials held by the incumbent that are part of the class description requirements in effect at the time such duties are performed.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 24 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units or Master Teacher Child Development Permit OR
- A valid Adult Education Teaching Credential OR
- Three or more years of specialized job experience in parenting education or early childhood development.

- Knowledge of infant and toddler development, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
- Ability to facilitate adult learning and parent education discussions effectively.
- Ability to create developmentally appropriate learning environments for toddlers and caregivers.
- Ability to work effectively with families from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with program staff, administration, and the school community.
- Poise, tact, good judgment, and a commitment to supporting families and young children.
