Advana / Jupiter Data Developer & Business Analyst
Location: Hybrid – Washington, DC (WAS) or Virginia Beach, VA preferred
Clearance: Secret (Active preferred; Interim considered)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Data Developer / Engineer / Business Analyst to support a unique U.S. Navy system leveraging Advana and/or Jupiter platforms. This role is ideal for a technically strong, data-driven professional who can build solutions, analyze complex datasets, and translate insights into mission impact.
This position supports high-visibility Navy initiatives focused on data integration, analytics, and decision support, working in a secure DoD environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Development
- Design, develop, and maintain data-driven applications and solutions within Advana and/or Jupiter environments
- Build and optimize data pipelines, APIs, and backend services using Python-based frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, etc.)
- Integrate third-party APIs and data sources to enhance system capabilities
- Perform data transformation, modeling, and optimization to improve performance and scalability
- Support testing, deployment, and troubleshooting of applications in a secure environment
Data Analytics & Visualization
- Develop interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights
- Produce regular analytics reports for leadership, supporting data-driven decision-making
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance with DoD standards
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Support
- Gather and document business and system requirements
- Translate mission needs into technical solutions and user stories
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, engineering, and government stakeholders
- Provide insights that support operational efficiency, cost reduction, and mission readiness
Required Qualifications
- Experience in data analytics, backend development, or business analysis
- Python (Pandas, NumPy, APIs, backend frameworks)
- Data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik)
- Experience building or supporting data pipelines, dashboards, or web-based data applications
- Familiarity with DoD data security, governance, and compliance standards
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, Agile-like environment
- Secret clearance (Active preferred, Interim considered)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Advana and/or Jupiter platforms
- Prior support to U.S. Navy or DoD programs
- RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Git-based version control (GitHub/GitLab)
- Testing frameworks (e.g., Pytest)
- Knowledge of predictive analytics, statistical modeling, or machine learning concepts
- Experience working with large, complex datasets
