Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist, you will be responsible for one or more specialty services within the hospital, ensuring the safe and effective pharmaceutical care for patients. You will act as a patient advocate, collaborating with healthcare professionals as a member of a multidisciplinary team. In addition, you will lead pharmacy services within the hospital by serving or chairing hospital committees, presenting at conferences, etc.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will prepare and dispense medications safely and accurately.
  • You will provide drug information to patients and families.
  • You will issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain records as required by law and corporate policies and procedures.
  • You will lead committees responsible for medication-related policies and procedures
  • You will serve as a mentor to pharmacy students, residents, and colleagues in a manner that fosters highly professional pharmaceutical care and high personal standards of integrity.
  • You will work with physicians to monitor medication therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriate drug and dose.

What qualifications you will need:

  • B.S. or Pharm D. degree in Pharmacy Required
  • Graduate of an accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency program is required.
  • Graduate of an accredited PGY-2 pharmacy residency program is preferred.
  • 5+ years of inpatient hospital experience is preferred.
  • 3+ years of HCA inpatient hospital experience is preferred.
  • Maintains current pharmacist licensure, with the state board of pharmacy, is required.
  • Pharmacist Board Certification is required
  • Specialty certifications, as determined by the facility needs, may be required.
