About the Role: Hoosick Regional Emergency Medical Services is looking for a dedicated and skilled Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) to join our life-saving team in Hoosick Falls, NY. Responsibilities:
Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, providing advanced pre-hospital medical care to patients
Perform AEMT-level interventions including IV/IO access, advanced airway management, and medication administration
Conduct thorough patient assessments and implement appropriate treatment protocols
Safely transport patients to appropriate medical facilities while maintaining continuous monitoring and care
Accurately document patient care reports (PCRs) in compliance with agency and state standards
Collaborate with paramedics, EMTs, firefighters, law enforcement, and hospital staff on scene
Maintain readiness of equipment, vehicles, and medical supplies in accordance with agency protocols
Requirements:
Current New York State AEMT certification in good standing
Valid CPR/BLS certification
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; emergency vehicle operation experience preferred
Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
Ability to remain calm and perform effectively under high-pressure emergency conditions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and team members
Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver patients and equipment as required by the role
