Position Overview

This role involves testing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a large healthcare facility. You will perform maintenance rounds, troubleshoot issues, and carry out general repairs with minimal supervision, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment, adhering to unit-specific safety and infection control protocols.
  • Independently repair and maintain various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment throughout the facility.
  • Troubleshoot system problems and perform necessary repairs.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Manage and organize equipment technical manuals.
  • Order and maintain inventory of equipment parts following organizational policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with external contractors as needed to support maintenance activities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a large acute care setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in all competencies required for an Engineering Mechanic II role.
  • Strong performance in hospital service standards as demonstrated in recent evaluations.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and repair machinery and MEP systems.
  • Physical capability to lift and perform manual tasks.
  • Flexibility to handle a variety of changing duties.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Healthcare Mechanic, C-10, State General Electrician's License, or related construction/industrial trade licenses.
  • EPA Refrigerant Transition & Recovery certification is a plus.
