Advanced Machinist - Seattle, WA area - Nov 2020

Our client in the Seattle, WA area has an opening for an Advanced Machinist/CNC Programmer. The client runs a full-service precision machine shop that specializes in complex operations and serves the Aerospace sector.

Position purpose/core responsibilities:

Advanced Machinist/CNC Programmer Job Summary:

CNC Programmer with experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills. You will develop new CNC programs for production runs or modify existing programs for different machines. During the manufacturing process, you will perform quality checks to ensure the program is producing parts according to specifications, making manual adjustments if necessary. Although no formal education is required, applicants should be familiar with the computer-aided design program.

CNC Programmer Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop CNC programs Based off of Siemans NX Models for production runs.
  • Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates.
  • Modify existing programs for different machines.
  • Maintain tooling database.
  • Make manual program adjustments, as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process.

CNC Programmer Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Completion of a technical or associate degree program a plus.
  • Experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills.
  • Use Siemans NX models to create CNC Programming.
  • Basic math skills.
