Job Summary: This role supports the needs of patients, staff, and medical professionals by efficiently performing preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of electrical and mechanical systems. Responsibilities include upkeep of electrical appliances, clinical and non-clinical equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, and building automation systems to ensure optimal operation across healthcare facilities.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain electrical appliances, outlets, wiring, and circuits up to 600 volts, including emergency power generator systems.
- Inspect, test, and replace lighting, power circuits, and electrical equipment using specialized instruments.
- Perform plumbing maintenance such as repairs to ice machines, toilets, sinks, and minor pipe installations.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems including boilers, chillers, air handlers, and cooling towers.
- Monitor energy management systems to verify HVAC functionality and address temperature control issues.
- Carry out light carpentry tasks including door inspections, drywall patching, and installation of wall-mounted items.
- Maintain commercial laundry and kitchen equipment, as well as water treatment and recovery systems.
- Respond to maintenance service calls, including on-call and weekend shifts, and maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
- Drive facility vehicles to various locations within the regional healthcare network to deliver and pick up repair parts.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
- Minimum of three years hands-on experience in industrial or commercial maintenance; healthcare experience is a plus.
- Completion of a trade school program or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Work Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm, 40 hours per week.
This position is based in a healthcare setting within the Midwest region of the United States.
