Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. As a seasoned leader, you’ll be a subject matter expert in production planning and material requirements tools, sharing your knowledge with others in the organization. We’ll rely on you to develop detailed schedules, production plans and capacity plans along with complex bills of material for large programs. The Advanced Manufacturing Planning Specialist will review work authorization documents and generate material program plans and coordinate kick-off meetings with functional departments to communicate program goals and objectives.

 

An Advanced Manufacturing Planning Specialist is responsible for developing and managing shop orders, tracking production progress, and ensuring timely availability of materials to meet program schedules. They collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to maintain shop floor execution and drive on-time delivery across all programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates and maintains all shop orders and repair orders in the ERP system (IFS)
  • Tracks shop order status and performs regular shop order clean-up to ensure accuracy of production records
  • Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering
  • Tracks and resolves material shortages to prevent production interruptions
  • Performs MRB (Material Review Board) tasking including disposition coordination and documentation
  • Conducts deviation review and ensures proper documentation and disposition of non-conforming material
  • Supports WAWF (customer sell-off) creation and submission
  • Compiles and monitors monthly production schedules
  • Develops detailed schedules, production plans, and capacity plans
  • Maintains forecast in the production and material planning tool and updates as required
  • Interfaces periodically with supply chain or suppliers on delivery issues and problem resolution
  • Develops reports on unit status and shipments as required
  • Oversees the master schedule and ensures compliance with material requirements for manufacturing
  • Identifies process flow improvements and implements them

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with Power BI to create dashboards supporting production visibility
  • Proficient understanding of MRP/ERP principles; experience with IFS preferred
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to problem solve utilizing analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining focus on details
  • Proficient understanding of material planning tools, concepts, and methodologies
  • Proficient understanding of concurrent engineering principles and government compliance regulations
  • Proficient understanding of negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Proficient time management skills
  • Proficient ability to implement change and monitor effectiveness of the change
  • Identifies opportunities to apply continuous improvement on the shop floor
  • Exercises proficient judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Effective risk management skills to identify and implement risk reduction plan
  • Ability to coordinate the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $87,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 /Yr.
