The Physics and Astronomy department is hiring an undergraduate student to aid in the organization, design, build, and implementation of equipment to streamline the Advanced Labs mission. The student should have experience in soldering, making circuit boards, building optical instrumentation, and using tools.

Required Qualifications

Individuals interested in applying to be an advanced lab aide must have completed PHYS 2010/2210, PHYS 2020/2220, and PHYS 3190

Lab aides may need to complete training sessions on a regular basis.

Applicants should have an interest in physics as well as in teaching others. A basic understanding of data collection, spreadsheets, and computer skills is necessary.

A good understanding of scientific and math concepts is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Physics experience preferred. Hiring preference will be given to those who have worked previously as Physics Department lab aides or those who are knowledgeable in the care, handling, and use of physics laboratory equipment.
