What you'll do:

The Advanced Practice Provider functions both independently and collaboratively to provide comprehensive care for vascular surgery patients while supporting additional surgical specialties as needed. Responsibilities include:

Vascular Surgery (Primary Service)

  • Independently manage vascular surgery outpatient clinic visits.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
  • Perform pre-operative evaluations and document payer-required conservative treatment measures.
  • Provide postoperative follow-up care and long-term management of chronic vascular conditions.
  • Evaluate diagnostic data and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Coordinate vascular patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Perform wound assessments and provide wound care management, including debridement and wound VAC management.
  • Participate in inpatient rounding, consultations, and discharge planning.

Breast Surgery and Plastic Surgery Cross-Coverage

  • Assist with inpatient consultations, rounding, and discharge planning.
  • Support postoperative patient management.
  • Perform wound assessments, dressing changes, and routine recovery monitoring.
  • Provide clinical coverage during faculty absences and concurrent surgical activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient flow and care coordination.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Facilitate transitions of care across the healthcare continuum.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and postoperative care.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary services.
  • Ensure compliance with Loyola Medicine policies, regulatory requirements, and professional practice standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement, research, educational, and leadership activities as appropriate.
  • Maintain clinical competency and professional certifications required for practice.

What you'll need for this job:

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education: Required: Master's Degree

Minimum Experience:

Required: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience

Preferred: 6-10 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications:

Required:

  • CPR - (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

  • Nursing - Current Registered Nurse License - State of Illinois (RN)

  • Nursing - Nursing Practitioner License - State of Illinois (APN)

  • Physician Assistant License - State of Illinois (PA)

Comp- Pay Range: $109,304 - $180,336 per year

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
