Full-Time or
Part-Time AFC Urgent Care in Cape Girardeau is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join a high-volume urgent care clinic with a strong focus on occupational medicine.
This role is ideal for a provider who is confident managing acute care independently, while also performing DOT physicals, work-related exams, and employer services.
What You’ll Do Urgent Care / Acute Care Evaluate and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries Order and interpret labs, X-rays, and diagnostic studies Perform procedures (laceration repair, I&D, splinting, etc.) Stabilize and triage higher acuity patients appropriately Occupational Medicine Perform DOT physicals (FMCSA certification preferred or willingness to obtain) Conduct pre-employment, return-to-work, and injury evaluations Manage workers’ compensation cases Complete employer-required documentation accurately and efficiently Experience with Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs) is a plus Clinic Flow & Team Leadership Work independently while collaborating with support staff Maintain efficient patient flow and strong patient experience Support and guide MAs and X-ray techs during busy shifts Ensure accurate, timely documentation in EMR What We’re Looking For NP (AANP/ANCC) or PA (NCCPA) – Board Certified Active Missouri license + DEA 2+ years urgent care, ER, or acute care experience strongly preferred Experience with occupational medicine and DOT physicals (or willingness to train) Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Comfortable balancing clinical care with efficiency and documentation Strong communicator with patients, staff, and employers Why AFC Urgent Care Competitive compensation (hourly or shift-based, based on experience) Flexible scheduling (Full-Time or Part-Time) PTO, health, dental, and retirement benefits (for full-time) Supportive, team-oriented clinic environment High level of provider autonomy What Success Looks Like You confidently manage a broad range of urgent care cases You keep patient flow moving without sacrificing care quality Employers trust your evaluations and documentation You are dependable, efficient, and a strong presence in the clinic Apply Today If you’re looking for a role where you can practice independently and stay clinically sharp we’d like to connect.
