Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Gender Affimation Surgery Advanced Practice Provider.Responsibilities Key role as the sole Advanced Practice Provider for the gender affirmation surgery team. Schedule: five weekdays, no call, no weekends. Outpatient clinic (four days a week), first assist in the OR (one day a week) and minimal inpatient responsibilities.Preferred Qualifications Advanced Practice Provider experience in a surgical related specialty, including robotics, is preferred.Relevant RN experience may be considered.APRN candidates will require Acute Care Certification and First Assistant Certification if working in OR.Procedural experience preferred.Position Requirements Nurse Practitioner Current licensure from the state of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position.Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP).CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.Physician Assistant Current licensure from the state of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program.Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost‑effective and quality patient care, and will exemplify Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with Rush policies, procedures, guidelines and customer service standards.Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for employees.
