UVA Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Malignant Hematology - Leukemia team in Charlottesville, Virginia. This is a compelling opportunity for an experienced NP or PA who is drawn to complex leukemia care, independent ambulatory APP practice, and the chance to grow within an academic medicine setting that values collaboration, teaching, and specialty development. The area is growing, with the APP team expanding from three providers to four providers and additional physician growth planned- 2 to 4 within the leukemia program.
The Role
In this role, you will help care for patients with leukemia and other malignant hematologic conditions across the continuum of treatment, including care before, during, and after chemotherapy. The practice is primarily outpatient and offers an independent APP clinic model with physician collaboration, giving you meaningful autonomy while keeping you connected to a highly specialized multidisciplinary team.
The strongest candidates will bring oncology experience, chemotherapy management knowledge, and a commitment to high-quality cancer care. Leukemia experience is highly desirable, but motivated APPs with strong oncology backgrounds or significant oncology nursing or clinician experience may also be competitive. Skills such as bone marrow biopsy procedures, disease-specific leukemia knowledge, specialized oncology workflows, and chemotherapy-related competencies can be developed as part of onboarding and growth in the role.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree.
Experience: Department and unit specific.
Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The pay range for this role is $116,123.00 - $171,163.20 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate''s qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
