Job Description
A healthcare facility in Elizabeth, New Jersey is seeking a Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to provide inpatient cardiology consult coverage on a locum tenens basis. This role offers weekend-focused coverage for patients on the cardiology consult service in a solo practice environment.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Friday through Monday, approximately 2-3 times per month
- Hours: Friday: 10 hours; Saturday: 11 hours; Sunday: 11 hours; Monday: 8 hours
- Setting: Inpatient hospital
Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient cardiology consultation coverage
- Manage an anticipated patient volume of approximately 12 to 24 patients
- Work independently with limited additional support staff
- Support weekend coverage blocks for the cardiology consult service
- Deliver care in a primarily solo practice model with occasional additional APP coverage
Qualifications:
- Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner credential
- Board certified or board eligible
- Experience providing inpatient cardiology consult services
- Ability to manage approximately 12 to 24 patients
- Ability to work independently in a solo coverage setting
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Cardiology experience
