As an APP in our outpatient clinic, we will support your professional growth through mentorship, specialty training, and exposure to complex cases that broaden your scope.  

Qualifications:  

  •  Preferred at least 2 years of experience as an advanced practice provider in the outpatient setting. Gastroenterology experience is desired but not required.   
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program  
  • Current national certification as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.  
  • Current state license and registration.  
  • Valid DEA license  
  • Certified in BLS endorsed by the American Heart Association.  

Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct routine and urgent patient visits in a gastroenterology clinic setting, seeing both new and established patients.  
  • Perform history and physical examinations on new and return patients, establish presumptive diagnoses, and order appropriate laboratory studies and tests.  
  • Respond to nurse triage line tasks.  
  • Perform prior authorizations and write letters of medical necessity.  
  • Communicate effectively with patients and other care team members.  
  • Follow up on test results and communicate with patients.  
  • Provide necessary patient education.  
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.  
  • Consult with supervising physicians or colleagues for complicated cases or those outside the scope of practice.  
  • Consider individuals’ cultural, psychological, social, and environmental factors in creating treatment and care plans.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
