We are seeking an enthusiastic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly, dynamic team in a busy Gastroenterology practice in the DFW suburb of Southlake, TX. Our clinic has been serving the community over 20 years and is also a partner of the fast-growing GI Alliance organization. Our practice fosters a team approach that will enable the PA/NP to expand their skillset and knowledge. We are dedicated to providing training and guidance to allow the PA/NP to excel with a sense of proficiency and accomplishment. The PA/NP in this position will have a meaningful impact in the practice.

Job Description:

• Practice address: 505 S. Nolen Drive, Southlake, TX 76092
• Busy Gastroenterology clinic, working both independently and in conjunction with the physicians
• Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time
• No call responsibilities
• No inpatient responsibilities
• Seeing both new and follow-up patients
• Approximately 14 patients per 8-hour day
• Elicit detailed patient histories, conduct physical examinations and document findings
• Counsel patients and families on health conditions and treatments
• Support, educate, guide office clinical staff (Nurses, MAs) and office staff (schedulers) in regard to patient care
• Determine tentative diagnoses and order appropriate diagnostic tests, interpret pathology findings, imaging, laboratory and other results
• Counsel patient and family on endoscopic indications, findings, potential complications and expected outcomes
• Achieve proficiency in the practice and EMR
• Collaborate with referring physicians and offices, hospitalists, surgical partners and other specialties for optimal patient care
• Maintain in good standing licensure with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners
• Participate in all continuing education, training, and other requirements to remain in good standing for credentialing purposes at assigned medical facilities
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Active TX State Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner- Required
• Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner- Required

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally- Required
• Ability to communicate and work collegially with a wide variety of team members- Required
• Gastrointestinal experience in a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner capacity- Required
