Job Description

Start Date & Duration: As soon as credentialed through permanent hire onboarding.

Shift Schedule & Work Hours:
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week (Clinics open 7 days/week).
  • Shift Duration: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (12+ hour shifts depending on patient flow; required to treat all patients who arrive during clinic operating hours).
  • Weekend Requirements: Yes (as part of weekly rotation).
  • On-Call Requirements: None.

Facility & Clinical Overview:
  • Practice Setting: 100% Outpatient Urgent Care Clinics across multiple Richmond-area locations.
  • Patient Population: Birth to death (Pediatric through Geriatric).
  • Patient Volume: 25 to 50 patients per day per clinic (volume increases during cold and flu season).
  • Acuity & Triage: Episodic urgent care; higher-acuity trauma or life-threatening cases must be stabilized and transferred to emergency departments.
  • EMR System: Epic.

Required Clinical Skills & Procedures:
  • Laceration Repair: Simple, intermediate, and complex suturing/stapling.
  • Integumentary Procedures: Incision and drainage (I&D) with packing, foreign body removal, minor burn management, skin lesion care, and epistaxis management (anterior nasal packing / silver nitrate cautery).
  • Orthopedics & Trauma: Splinting, casting, joint reduction, and injury stabilization.
  • Diagnostics & Testing: X-ray interpretation, EKG evaluation, and point-of-care lab interpretation (Rapid Strep, Flu, COVID-19, RSV, Urinalysis, Blood Glucose).
  • Respiratory Care: Nebulizer administration and initial emergency airway stabilization.

Candidate Submission & Qualification Requirements:
Licensure & Certifications:
  • Profession: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) [REQUIRED].
  • Board Status: Active National Board Certification [REQUIRED].
  • State Licensure: Active, unencumbered Virginia State License [REQUIRED].
  • Registrations & Life Support: Active DEA Registration and AHA BLS Certification [REQUIRED].
Clinical Experience & Background:
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of post-licensure clinical experience in an Urgent Care, Emergency Department, or Primary Care setting [REQUIRED].
  • Background History: Completely clean background with zero malpractice, suit, or licensing issues [REQUIRED — No exceptions].
