Advanced Quality Engineer | Byron Center, MI

Salary Range: $88,000 - $129,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with multiple companies in Byron Center seeking experienced Advanced Quality Engineers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced quality control plans and inspection methodologies.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for complex quality issues.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools for process optimization.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and quality requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
  • Conduct supplier quality audits and develop supplier quality improvement plans.
  • Mentor and train junior quality engineers on advanced quality techniques.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949) and associated tools (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using methodologies like 8D, 5 Why, or Fishbone diagrams.
  • ASQ Certification (e.g., CQE, CSSGB, CSSBB) preferred.
Bonus Qualifications
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
  • Experience with statistical software packages (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and tools (Green Belt or Black Belt certification a plus).
  • Knowledge of advanced metrology and inspection techniques.
  • Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, assembly, injection molding).
