Salary Range: $86,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Grand Rapids that are seeking skilled Advanced Quality Engineers. Key Responsibilities

  • Leads root cause analysis and corrective actions for complex quality issues.
  • Develops and implements advanced quality control plans and inspection methodologies.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives using statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Collaborates with design and manufacturing teams to ensure quality is built into new product development.
  • Conducts advanced failure analysis and material characterization to identify defect mechanisms.
  • Mentors junior quality engineers and provides technical expertise in problem-solving.
  • Manages and analyzes quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of quality methodologies and tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans)
  • Demonstrated experience with Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving techniques
  • Familiarity with relevant industry quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949)
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
Bonus Qualifications
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification
  • Experience with Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt methodologies
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 or other relevant automotive quality standards
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans
