Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, the nation's first Historically Black College and University-seeks a Blackbaud Raiser's Edge Specialist to support operations that advance the University's mission, legacy, and strategic priorities. This position serves as the primary administrator and institutional expert for Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, supporting fundraising, alumni engagement, reporting, and donor stewardship.

The Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring data integrity, compliance, and transparency while enabling Institutional Advancement to strengthen philanthropic support for student success, academic excellence, and institutional sustainability. The position collaborates closely with Advancement staff, University Finance, Information Technology, and Blackbaud.

Essential Job Function:

1Identify opportunities to improve advancement operations, reporting efficiency, and data use2Configure and maintain system security, user permissions, and workflows in alignment with university policy, PASSHE guidance, FERPA, and data privacy standards3Maintain documentation of data standards, business rules, and system processes4Coordinate system updates, enhancements, and vendor support in collaboration with University IT and Blackbaud5Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of constituent, alumni, donor, and gift records within Raisers Edge.6Perform gift processing, queries and report writing within Raisers Edge.7Perform routine data audits, de-duplication, validation, and quality assurance reviews within Raisers Edge.8Support compliance with donor intent, gift acceptance policies, and Commonwealth audit requirements.9Perform data maintenance and utilize import/export functionality.10Produce regular and ad hoc reports for Advancement leadership, the President's Office, and University stakeholders11Support reporting for annual giving, major gifts, alumni participation, grants, and special initiatives within Raisers Edge.12Collaborate with University Finance on gift reconciliation, fund reporting, and fiscal compliance.13Provide data analysis to support institutional planning and fundraising strategy.14Support gift processing, pledges, acknowledgments, and donor recognition workflows within Raisers Edge.15Assist with campaign and appeal setup, prospect tracking, and stewardship reporting within Raisers Edge.16Provide operational support to development officers and alumni relations staff.17Train Institutional Advancement staff on Raiser's Edge functionality, data entry standards, and reporting tools.18Develop user guides and training materials to promote consistency and best practices.19Serve as the Raisers Edge primary point of contact for system troubleshooting and user support.20Promote collaboration and shared responsibility for data quality across the Advancement team.21Stay current on Blackbaud upgrades, higher education advancement trends, and PASSHE best practices.

Requirements

Required minimum Qualifications:

Education, Training, and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Two years of hands-on experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge creating queries,

exports, and reports and using the import/export tools for data updates and bulk processing.

Experience supporting fundraising, advancement, or alumni operations

Strong analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to handle confidential donor and alumni information with discretion

Effective communication skills and strong customer-service

Strong knowledge of Advancement Fundraising software Blackbaud Raisers Edge

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree

Five years of hands-on experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge

Relevant professional credentials/certification(s) in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and/or NXT

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manage data, generate reports, and perform basic data analysis.

Understanding of advancement and alumni relations data in a higher education environment

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Ability to collaborate effectively in a shared-governance, mission-driven institution

Commitment to equity, transparency, stewardship, and student success

Knowledge of Raiser's Edge/NXT software is an asset

Ability to interact with diplomacy and tact amid influential clients and diverse groups

Ability to adapt and respond to various situations
