Position Summary: The Impact You'll Make
We are seeking a highly motivated Advancement Services Specialist to serve as the functional administrator of our donor database and a key pillar of our Advancement operations. This role is instrumental in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and strategic utility of our donor records. Reporting to the Advancement Services leadership, you will be directly responsible for data management, gift processing support, reporting, and operational efficiency, ultimately empowering our team to execute successful fundraising, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The primary function of the Advancement Services unit at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) is to provide the essential infrastructure and support necessary to facilitate successful fundraising, donor relations, and stewardship efforts. This unit oversees critical operational components such as gift processing, prospect research, donor data management, records maintenance, and reporting. By ensuring the integrity and efficiency of these systems, Advancement Services enables the university to cultivate and maintain strong donor relationships, maximize fundraising potential, and support the institution's broader strategic priorities, including student success, financial sustainability, and community engagement. The unit acts as the backbone of WSSU's advancement operations, driving innovation and ensuring that resources are effectively managed to meet the university's long-term goals.
