    Job Description

    AdventHealth Apopka is looking for a dynamic, hardworking board-certified Family or Internal Medicine trained physician to work as a Hospitalist. Physician will join an existing inpatient practice affiliated with the Allopathic Family Medicine residency but will serve in a clinical only role.

    Ideal candidate should expect:

    • 7 on/7 off work schedule
    • Day shifts, 1pm - 11pm (19 mandatory night shifts per year
    • No call required
    • Comprehensive benefits package including occurrence-based malpractice, CME allowance, 403b retirement plan, life insurance, long term disability, relocation allowance

    A strong emphasis will be placed on evidence-based medicine with a concentration on patient centered care. An ideal candidate would have experience in hospitalist medicine, strong communication skills, and fit within the mission and vision of AdventHealth. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred, but not necessary.

    AdventHealth Apopka is an acute-care 120 bed community hospital located in Orange County, just a short drive from Orlando, Florida. Founded in 1975, we provide a wide array of inpatient and outpatient services, ranging from critical care to specialized emergency medicine.     Apopka is also known as the "indoor foliage capital of the world" because of its multi-million dollar foliage industry. In the city's 24.9 square miles much of the land outside of the commercial and residential area is still used for agriculture. Located in both Orange and Seminole counties (but predominately in Orange County, Apopka borders Altamonte Springs and is also located 12 miles northwest of the popular tourist destination, Orlando. The estimated population is 37,000, and Apopka is noted for being home to the 2001 baseball U.S. Little League champions. Apopka is currently one of the fastest growing areas in central Florida due to new construction on Florida State Road 429 (Daniel Webster Western Beltway, a major highway in the area.
