The AdventHealth Transplant Institute (AHTI is seeking a fellowship-trained Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist to serve as Director of the Cardiac Amyloidosis Program. This physician leader will oversee the continued growth of a comprehensive multidisciplinary amyloidosis program and build a premier regional referral program for cardiac amyloidosis within one of the nation's busiest Advanced Heart Failure, LVAD, and Heart Transplant centers.
Position Highlights:
As Director of the Cardiac Amyloidosis Program, you will:
Lead and grow a comprehensive multidisciplinary cardiac amyloidosis program in a rapidly expanding Central Florida market
Expand an established regional referral network for ATTR and AL cardiac amyloidosis throughout Central Florida and beyond
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hematology, neurology, nephrology, genetics, cardiac imaging, nursing, and research
Lead multidisciplinary amyloidosis conferences, quality initiatives, and physician outreach
Expand participation in clinical trials and improve patient access to emerging therapies
Receive protected leadership administrative time to oversee the program
Receive a dedicated nurse navigator for care coordination and administrative support of the program
As an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist, you will:
Care for patients across the spectrum of advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation
Participate in the Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplant inpatient service and donor call schedule
Evaluate patients for advanced heart failure therapies, including mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation when appropriate
Contribute to cardiovascular disease and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology fellowship education
Opportunity to work with 8 heart failure cardiologists and 3 heart failure surgeons

Comprehensive Advanced Heart Failure, LVAD, and Heart Transplant Program
60 heart transplants annually
70 LVAD implants annually
Established regional referral network across Central Florida
Advanced cardiac imaging including echocardiography, cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, nuclear imaging, and PYP scintigraphy
Hematology partnership for AL amyloidosis
Access to genetic counseling and testing
Active participation in multicenter clinical trials
Ideal Candidate:
Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology
3+ years of post-fellowship experience
Strong clinical passion for cardiac amyloidosis
Interest and expertise in multidisciplinary program development and physician leadership
Commitment to clinical excellence, education, and research
Strong collaborative and communication skills
Willingness to work with HCM program - accredited as Center of Excellence
