Description
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Opportunity available in Altamonte, FL. AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking dynamic and energetic Neonatal Nurse Practitioners to work in our Level II NICU and newborn nursery. The neonatal nurse practitioner in collaboration with the neonatology will cover the 10-bed level 2 NICU and newborn nursery service at Altamonte.
General Summary:
The NNP is responsible for providing care for NICU and Newborn patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice
Evaluate patients, perform procedures, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist
Communicate with parents, other specialists and among NICU team
Monitoring specialized equipment, including incubators and ventilators
Providing education and support to patients' families regarding neonatal, intensive and, postpartum care
Dispensing medications under collaborative agreement with a physician
Performing diagnostic tests and other procedures, such as intubation and blood draws
Ensuring proper feeding and basic care
Schedule Details:
24hr in house shift
Required Education and Experience:
Master's degree in Nursing with Neonatal Certification (required
1-2 years of experience in the NICU as an RN (highly preferred
1-2 years of experience in the NICU as a Neonatal APRN (preferred but not required
Required Licensure and Certification:
Must hold a valid Florida APRN or PA License with Neonatal certification
Certification through ANCC, or other nationally recognized certifying body
