Advising Assistant, Part-time (5154C) - Engineering Student ServicesThis part‑time (50% FTE) career position supports the Engineering Student Services Advisers and the Associate Director of Advising by managing tasks that support College of Engineering students. The Advising Assistant serves as the primary adviser for visiting study abroad undergraduates in COE and the ESS intake adviser.ResponsibilitiesActs as the study abroad liaison, collaborating with departmental enrollment managers to establish and enforce guidelines for visiting UCEAP students. Plans and supports study abroad events and programming for undergraduate engineering students.Advises visiting UCEAP undergraduate students as the primary point of contact, supporting their academic experience and resolving enrollment‑related issues.Triages in‑person and email inquiries, providing accurate information about major requirements. Drafts and sends communications to students and generates reports using campus systems as needed.Provides support to the ESS advising team, including preparing meeting agendas, taking notes, and developing supporting materials. Processes petitions and forms. Maintains accurate data entry in student systems and assists with event coordination as needed.Manages file maintenance and storage.Other administrative advising duties as needed.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.Basic knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.Experience using spreadsheets, Google Workspace and databases.Effective oral and written communication skills.Attention to detail and accuracy.Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations.Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.Salary & BenefitsThe budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $24.76 to $38.31 hourly. This is a part‑time (50% FTE) career position eligible for full benefits and paid biweekly.
