Accounting Faculty
Responsibilities: To provide and assist low-income, first-generation students with the information and tools needed to complete secondary school and to enroll in an institution of higher education. This position reports to the Director of Educational Talent Search & Upward Bound.
Qualifications: Applicant must have a minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree is required; in Guidance and Counseling, Social Work, Communications, or Psychology is desired. Experience working in an educational setting. Tutoring experience preferred. Previous TRIO experience is preferred. Must demonstrate strong motivational, organizational, and management skills. Must be able to relate to educationally disadvantaged students, public school teachers, counselors, and administrators in a positive manner. Knowledge of vocational and academic diagnostic tools is preferred. Ability to drive a 10-passenger van.
Salary: The annual salary for this position is $40,000.
Fringe Benefits: This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee. Additional optional coverages includes dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability. Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas or Optional Retirement Program, accrued sick leave, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program. Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
