Accounting Advisory Associate / Senior Associate (Audit Background)

Location: Florida (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Tampa) - Relocation available 

Job Summary

Caitlin May Consulting is partnering with a leading professional services firm to identify audit professionals interested in transitioning into an advisory-focused role.

This opportunity is designed for individuals with a strong external audit foundation who are looking to expand beyond recurring audit cycles and gain exposure to broader accounting, reporting, and finance-related initiatives.

In this role, you will work closely with client finance leadership, supporting complex accounting projects and strategic business initiatives across a range of industries.

Essential Functions

• Partner with client finance teams on accounting and business initiatives

• Support capital markets readiness and regulatory reporting requirements

• Assist with accounting considerations related to acquisitions, divestitures, and restructurings

• Advise on technical accounting topics and financial reporting matters

• Improve financial reporting processes, controls, and efficiencies

• Support special projects and high-priority initiatives for finance teams

• Work across multiple industries and client environments

• Contribute to project-based deliverables in a consulting setting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required

• CPA or CPA-track preferred

• 3–6 years of experience in external audit within a public accounting environment

• Experience working with large or complex clients

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting

• Ability to communicate and collaborate with client stakeholders

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience in Big 4 or large public accounting firms

• Exposure to complex accounting transactions or reporting requirements

Location Requirements

Candidates must be currently based in Florida OR open to relocating to one of the following markets: 

• Miami
• Fort Lauderdale
• Boca Raton
• Tampa
