Overview:

A family in Chevy Chase, Maryland is seeking an experienced, long-term Nanny/Family Assistant to join their household and transition into a beloved member of the family. Their current nanny has been with them since their oldest child was born six years ago and is deeply valued, so finding someone they can trust and build the same type of lasting relationship with is especially important.

 

The family has three children, with the two older children attending school outside the neighborhood and the youngest attending a nearby school. The schedule will have a natural split between morning household support, childcare, school pickups, and afternoon activities. The current nanny will be available for an overlap period, which will allow the new nanny to become familiar with the family, children, routines, and household before fully stepping into the role.

 

Schedule:

8am-6pm

Monday - Friday 

 

Travel:

Must be able to travel on four overnight trips a year

Must be able to travel one big trip a year

Responsibilities:

 

• Getting children ready for school and managing morning routines
• Picking up the youngest child from school around noon
• Helping with lunch and nap time
• Picking up the older children from their school in the afternoon
• Driving children to extracurricular activities and appointments
• Helping with homework and afternoon routines as needed
• Laundry and light household organization during open hours
• Tidying children's spaces and helping keep the home organized
• Preparing simple meals and snacks for the children
• Traveling with the family at least once per year
• Being available for approximately four overnight trips per year

• Someone who genuinely enjoys becoming part of a family and building long-term relationships
• Flexible and adaptable

Requirements:

• Experienced professional nanny with a strong track record of longevity
• Warm, nurturing, and trustworthy
• Organized, proactive, and comfortable using downtime productively
• Confident caring for multiple children of different ages
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the children's day
• Someone who understands the importance of consistency and reliability
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required

Salary and Benefits:

• $35–$45/hour DOE
• Family vehicle available for work-related driving
