Our client is seeking a mid- to senior-level front -end developer to join a small, experienced delivery team supporting an existing enterprise microsite built on AEM Edge Delivery Services. The team needs a hands-on front-end developer to take over ongoing maintenance and drive steady improvements against an active backlog. This is practical, foundational UI work: building and refining the core blocks that make the site run, not exotic one-off functionality (at least not right now). The initial engagement is 3 months, and the team expects extensions for people who deliver.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of an existing AEM EDS microsite including day-to-day front-end development, maintenance, and enhancements.
Apply solid dev skills in HTML, vanilla JavaScript, and CSS.
Build and refine foundational UI blocks including carousels, cards, heroes, tabs, and accordions using vanilla JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Support content authors working in document-based authoring and Universal Editor.
Work through a prioritized backlog, delivering incremental improvements on agreed timelines.
Ask questions early and clarify requirements rather than guess (this team encourages it).
Step into client conversations when needed to clarify requirements, walk through work, or give status.
What Success Looks Like in 90 Days
Consistently meeting agreed timelines and commitments.
Visible progress against the backlog.
Trusted by the team and the client as the go-to front-end resource for the site.
Requirements
Mid- to senior-level front-end development experience in vanilla JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS without reliance on frameworks like React or Angular.
Hands-on AEM Edge Delivery Services experience building and customizing blocks.
Experience with document-based authoring (Google Docs/SharePoint to EDS).
Experience with AEM Universal Editor.
Ability to communicate clearly and confidently including speaking directly with clients.
A track record of meeting commitments and raising risks before they become missed deadlines.
Preferred
Adobe AEM certifications.
Experience optimizing EDS sites for Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals.
Comfort with GitHub-based development workflows.
This is a 3-month remote contract with likely extensions. Low-cost employee benefits, paid time off, paid Holidays, and a 401(k) (with an immediately vested company match) are available with TriCom during the contract period. H-1B visa sponsorship is not available for this position. No third parties, please.
