Help Clients Improve How Buildings Operate
Aero Performance Group is seeking a Building Performance Project Manager to lead projects that improve building operations, energy performance, occupant comfort, system reliability, and environmental quality.
This position is ideal for professionals with commissioning, energy, controls, HVAC, facilities, or engineering experience who want to move beyond traditional project delivery and become trusted advisors to building owners.
Youll work with healthcare organizations, commercial property owners, universities, laboratories, and industrial clients to solve complex operational challenges and drive measurable building performance improvements.
About the Role
The Building Performance Project Manager leads technical projects from initial client engagement through project closeout while serving as a trusted advisor to facility owners and operators.
Projects may include:
Commissioning (Cx) Retro-Commissioning (RCx) Monitoring-Based Commissioning (MBCx) Building Analytics HVAC Optimization Controls Optimization Energy Performance Initiatives Building Assessments Critical Environment Performance Facility Operational Improvement Programs
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
Manage multiple projects simultaneously from kickoff through closeout. Develop project schedules, work plans, budgets, and staffing plans. Coordinate internal resources and external stakeholders. Monitor project profitability and financial performance. Manage billing, forecasting, and change orders.
Client Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients. Lead project meetings and presentations. Build long-term client relationships. Identify opportunities for expanded services and future engagements.
Technical Oversight
Review building performance assessments and investigation findings. Oversee functional testing and system performance evaluations. Guide development of recommendations and client deliverables. Review technical reports for quality and accuracy. Mentor Project Engineers and junior staff.
Safety Leadership
Promote Aeros safety-first culture. Ensure safe project planning and execution. Support compliance with all company and client safety requirements.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelors degree in:
Mechanical Engineering Architectural Engineering Construction Management Building Science Related discipline
3-8 years of experience in one or more of the following:
Commissioning Building Performance HVAC Systems Building Automation Systems Energy Engineering Testing & Balancing Facilities Engineering Construction Project Management
Strong communication and client-facing skills. Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
Preferred
Experience with healthcare, laboratory, pharmaceutical, higher education, commercial, or mission-critical facilities. Building Automation System experience. Knowledge of HVAC controls and sequences of operation. Industry certifications such as:
CCP CBCP PMP PE CxA AABC NEBB
