About the Role
We are seeking an Aerodynamics Engineer to support the design, analysis, and testing of next-generation air vehicle platforms. In this role, you will perform aerodynamic modeling, aircraft performance analysis, and wind tunnel and flight testing to optimize vehicle performance from concept through flight validation. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in aerodynamics, computational analysis, and flight testing, with experience developing innovative solutions for advanced aerospace systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform aerodynamic analyses to support the design and optimization of advanced air vehicle platforms.
Develop aircraft performance predictions using analytical methods and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
Conduct aerodynamic evaluations using hand calculations, vortex lattice methods, panel methods, and CFD.
Support wind tunnel and flight test campaigns, including test planning, data acquisition, data analysis, and project coordination.
Develop and maintain engineering analysis tools using MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages.
Analyze aerodynamic performance data and recommend design improvements.
Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, test procedures, engineering reports, and design analyses.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the design, integration, testing, and development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering.
3+ years of experience as an individual contributor in an aerospace engineering role.
Experience with aircraft performance analysis and aerodynamic prediction.
Strong experience with:
Hand calculations
Vortex lattice methods
Panel methods
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Experience supporting wind tunnel and flight testing, including data acquisition, analysis, and project coordination.
Strong programming skills using MATLAB, Python, or similar high-level programming languages within a version-controlled development environment.
Experience preparing technical documentation, including specifications, test procedures, and engineering reports.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with StarCCM+.
Experience with ice accretion or aircraft icing analysis.
Experience using Missile DATCOM, OTIS, or DYMOS.
Experience working with transonic and supersonic flow regimes.
