Build What Moves the World
At Timken Aurora Bearing Company, your work helps power flight, infrastructure, and the future of sustainable motion. Join a global organization of 20,000+ associates across 46 countries and make an immediate impact in our Aircraft department.
A Day in the Life
You arrive, review your work orders, and prepare your cell. Safety first—apply lockout/tagout where required, verify machine guarding, and keep your area clean and organized. You’ll sign out precision gauges from Quality Assurance and set them to print specifications before you run a first article, document results, and make adjustments to achieve setup approval.
Throughout the shift, you’ll configure and run a variety of equipment to assemble aerospace bearings and related components:
- Presses: Swap dies and pins; install staking, stamping, and fitting fixtures; add shims as needed. Adjust hydraulic pressure and stroke to spec.
- Laser Marker: Change fixtures, plates, rods, and spacers; load the correct program for each job.
- Inkjet Marking: Modify format, set track speed, and switch between rotary and inline modes.
- Electro-Etch: Select the right pins, pads, and solution; dial in the proper settings.
- Ovens: Set temperatures and timers precisely for process requirements.
- Fit Operations: Choose and change fixtures, pins, and shims to achieve correct fit.
- 2-Piece Swage: Install dies, pins, and bushings for reliable swaging results.
- Swage (Spherical Inserts): Configure dies, pins, shims, and springs to meet tight tolerances.
As you run production, you’ll load parts, cycle equipment, and inspect at defined intervals—visually, by feel, and with gauges—to maintain dimensional and marking accuracy. You’ll wash parts as required, move material to and from the scale and work area, maintain machine fluid levels, and immediately alert a Lead or Supervisor to unusual conditions.
