Job Overview
The Aerospace Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling aerospace components in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
Responsibilities
- Prepare parts and complete assembly operations according to work instructions.
- Drill, ream, and countersink holes to specified tolerances.
- Operate hydraulic presses to install bushings, bearings, and related components.
- Install rivets, nutplates, seals, bolts, and other aerospace hardware.
- Apply adhesives, sealants, fasteners, bearings, and related materials.
- Use precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, OHM meters, and other inspection equipment.
- Mark finished parts according to customer and engineering requirements.
- Follow manufacturing processes and work instructions exactly as defined.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and support FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Communicate material or supply shortages to supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ITAR Requirement
This position requires access to information and technology controlled under U.S. export regulations, including ITAR and EAR. Applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person under these regulations or otherwise be authorized to access controlled information through the appropriate government approval process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
- Aerospace assembly experience is a plus but not required.
- Automotive, aviation, mechanical, or maintenance experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
