Description

About the Opportunity

Step into a modern, climate-controlled aerospace machine shop where precision isn’t a buzzword—it’s the culture. You’ll join a Connecticut team with 60+ years of crafting complex components for commercial and military aircraft. We’re partnering with this industry leader to add a skilled CNC professional who’s excited by tight tolerances, advanced tech, and continuous learning.

Your Day, Simplified

You clock in for 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, and take ownership of a Matsuura 5-axis cell or a DMG Mori/Nakamura setup. You load tools, dial in offsets, and make smart edits to Fanuc programs to keep parts on-spec. You verify features with micrometers, calipers, gages, and comparators, document your work on job travelers, and capture lessons learned in crisp setup sheets. When issues arise, you troubleshoot quickly, communicate clearly, and keep production moving. Along the way, you help onboard teammates to safe and consistent operating practices—and leave your machine spotless.

What You’ll Do

  • Interpret complex blueprints with GD&T and translate them into reliable setups.
  • Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes; select, load, and qualify tooling.
  • Adjust CNC parameters and edit G-code on Fanuc controls to maintain spec.
  • Run in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gages, and comparators.
  • Complete required system transactions; update job travelers and author setup sheets.
  • Troubleshoot machining challenges and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness; support training of new operators.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school training is a plus.
  • Fluency reading prints with GD&T and working to tight tolerances.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-axis milling or turning.
  • Comfort with Fanuc-controlled machinery.
  • Aerospace manufacturing background strongly preferred.
  • Clear English communication skills—read, write, and speak.
  • Experience machining a variety of materials.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and the initiative to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
