    Description

    Aerospace Precision Assembly Operations Leader

Lead the line. Set the standard. Deliver mission‑critical assemblies.

    A day on your floor

You arrive before your team so everything’s ready to run: materials staged, work centers cleared, assignments posted, takt times visible, methods confirmed. When the bell rings, you’ve already aligned people, parts, and plan. Throughout the day you walk the cells, check real‑time progress, remove roadblocks, and keep the build cadence steady so every component is staged on time for the next operation.

Quality isn’t inspected in — you lead it

You safeguard standard operating procedures and frozen processes, verify that work instructions are followed, and ensure every feature is captured on the Operator Characteristics Claim Sheet. When something drifts, you team up with Quality and Technical Services to investigate root cause and lock in corrective and preventive actions that stop repeat issues. Your goal: reduce variation and eliminate non‑conformance risk across programs, methods, and processes.

    Throughput with control

You watch the schedule in real time, participate in daily coordination meetings, and reallocate resources as priorities change. When volume spikes, you coordinate overtime to meet throughput targets without sacrificing safety or precision. Waste is your constant hunt — you surface it, act on it, and embed continuous improvement in the team’s habits.

    Your team, your biggest lever

You ensure every assembler is fully trained for their primary role and cross‑trained where it strengthens the flow. You run honest, data‑driven performance appraisals, celebrate top performance publicly, and handle discipline with consistency and respect.

    What you bring

    • 5+ years leading teams in mechanical assembly, testing, gas turbines, or power generation; aerospace and defense program experience is a strong plus
    • High school diploma required; technical degree preferred
    • U.S. citizenship required
    • Proven leadership that builds followership and alignment across functions
    • Clear communicator, organized under pressure, strong problem solver
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and electronic time/labor systems
    • Deep understanding of production operations and equipment — or the ability to learn them quickly

    Physical and mental demands

    • Active, on-floor presence for extended periods; frequent standing and movement
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
    • Rapid decision-making, juggling multiple priorities, and staying sharp when the pressure peaks
