Can you turn precise orbital tube welds into mission success?

If your answer is yes, read on. Millennium Space Systems (a Boeing company) builds small satellites for national security space. We need a hands‑on propulsion technician on second shift who’s ready to fabricate, integrate, and test propulsion systems that fly.

What would you tackle first?

  • Run orbital tube welds to build tube subassemblies and complete propulsion tank closeouts.
  • Install, route, terminate, stake, wrap, and test thermistors, heaters, and non‑flight thermocouples on spacecraft per engineering drawings, specs, and written AIT procedures.
  • Verify work with meticulous visual inspections against drawings and procedures.
  • Move hardware safely using forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight‑vehicle/subassembly transporters, and truck/tractor‑trailers.
  • Travel as needed to support program operations.
  • Use orbital/tack welding machines, drill press, grinders, and a broad toolkit of hand/power tools.
  • Partner with Design/Manufacturing Engineering, Materials, Procurement, Shipping, and Quality to solve issues tied to design, methods, tooling, cost, and quality.
  • Pitch in where the business needs you most; coach and cross‑train new teammates; take on other assigned work.

Team, schedule, and worksite

  • Onsite: This role is 100% onsite at one of our listed locations.
  • Shift: Primarily second shift with potential for additional shift support to meet program goals. You must be able to work any shift, as assigned. Official shift: Shift 2 (United States of America).

  • Union: Hourly; represented by the Cabinet Makers, Millmen and Industrial Carpenters Union (CMM&IC Local 721).
  • Probation: New hires and transfers from non‑union roles may need to complete training within a 90‑day probationary period; employment continues upon successful completion.
  • Conflict of Interest: Must complete and satisfy the Company’s COI assessment process.

Bring these qualifications

  • 4+ years of propulsion/high‑reliability assembly experience (aerospace preferred).
  • 1+ year of orbital tube welding.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, harness diagrams, and varying specifications.
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, DMMs, depth gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • High attention to detail; lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Heater/thermistor installation experience; adept with hand and power tools.
  • Experience mixing epoxy materials.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication; MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint proficiency.

Stand out with

  • 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing or integration.
